TCS TechBytes, one of Karnataka’s engineering and IT quiz competitions, has opened registrations till February 23. Engineering students of all streams and semesters are eligible for participation.

 

Organised by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Board of IT Education Standards (BITES), an autonomous body promoted by the Government of Karnataka for IT industries and institutes, the 13th edition of the competition will be a combination of online tests and virtual quiz shows.

Questions will revolve around the technology environment, the business, new trends, its people, legends. There will be IT-related questions pertaining to its history, products and their impact on other sectors like mass media, education, gaming, music, sports and cell phones among others.

 

The competition will accept a maximum of 20 entrants from each college, who will be selected following a model question paper completion. After the college’s selection phase, the state will be divided into six regions for the upcoming rounds: Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Hubballi, Mangaluru, Tumkuru and Bengaluru. 

The regional level quiz will be held on March 6, from which the top six contenders will be chosen for the regional finals, which will be held on March 15 for Kalaburagi, Mysuru and Hubballi, and forMangaluru, Tumkuru and Bengaluru on March 16.

The top scorer from each region will compete in the state finals on March 29. The winner will emerge as the Karnataka State ‘TCS TechBytes’ Champion. The winner at the state level will receive a scholarship of Rs 85,000 and the runner up will receive that of Rs 50,000. Click here to know more: http://www.bites.org.in/
