ISRO course on Remote Sensing and Image Analysis for professionals, researchers, students

The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is inviting applications from students and officials for an eight-week offline course on Remote Sensing and Image Analysis. 

The course will be conducted from January 10 to March 4, 2022.

The prime objective of the programme is to train and enhance the capacity of working professionals, researchers and students in the field of remote sensing with special emphasis on processing remotely sensed data using digital image processing techniques. The course aims to train participants with a good working knowledge of the theory and practice of geospatial tools and technologies.

It will also support capacity-building activities in the country so that the benefits of space technology reach society at large, according to an official notification issued by IIRS. 

Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering. Only 20 candidates will be selected and IIRS will provide accommodation at nominal charges. The names will be announced on December 3.

Interested candidates will have to fill in an online application on the IIRS website (www.iirs.gov.in) by 5.30pm on November 12. Candidates have to pay an application fee of Rs 1,000 each and a course fee of Rs 20,000 (Rs 12,000 course fee plus Rs 8,000 towards registration and other charges) . 

The course will be conducted from January 10 to March 4, 2022.
