The first day of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) placements 2022 which began on 1 December 2022 saw students receive foreign offers and job placements from major corporations. While IIT Madras also saw an increase in offers from the previous year, students from IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Guwahati were successful in securing international offers.

Microsoft, Google, Uber, Qualcomm, Oracle, ONGC, Flipkart, Texas Instruments, Bajaj Auto, Goldmann Sachs, Boston Consulting Group, and JP Morgan Chase & Co. are just a few of the leading companies that are taking part in this year's placement season.

365 job offers, including pre-placement offers (PPOs), were made during the IIT Roorkee placements 2022 on the first day. In contrast to IIT Roorkee, which had 6 offers with the highest salary of Rs. 1.06 crore, IIT Guwahati received 2 international job offers with the highest salary of Rs. 2.4 crore. 4 companies made 15 international job offers to IIT Madras.

1,722 students from IIT Madras registered for the placements in 2022, while 1,269 students from IIT Guwahati submitted applications. IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati each have 264 companies participating in the placements.
