The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT- M) joins hands with the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) to function as a knowledge partner for the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’, an initiative of the Government of India.

The initiative focuses to highlight the academic, economic, social and cultural relationship between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu and make room for improvement. Interested candidates will need to register at the official website — kashitamil.iitm.ac.in.

The Kashi Tamil Sangamam will start on 16 November and end on 20 December. The month-long programme will have around 3000 special guests from different sectors including art, literature, spirituality and education.

Steps to register for Kashi Tamil Sangamam:

  1. Visit the official website- kashitamil.iitm.ac.in
  2. Click on ‘Register’ button
  3. Choose the category and fill out the application form with the required details
  4. Click ‘Submit’

Candidates participating in this programme will be given a chance to attend the academic sessions, and tour around Varanasi and Ayodhya, including the Ganga cruise. The attendees of the program will need to travel in groups to Kashi for special coaching classes in trains that will depart from Chennai, Rameswaram and Coimbatore on 12 different dates. Attendees will have eight days from the start date till their return. Guests attending will have the benefit of free travel and free accommodation at Kashi and Ayodhya.
