A few domestic offers crossed the Rs 1- crore mark

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur surpassed its past placement records with 235 offers on Day 1 of the placement drive for 2021-22.

The placement process is being conducted virtually because of the pandemic situation.

Thirty companies took part in the drive with more than 60 profiles opened for the students. Offers came from companies like Qualcomm, Microsoft, Google, EXL Service, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, and American Express.

A wide spectrum of profiles like software, analytics, finance, consulting and core were offered to the students.

The quantity and quality of packages offered improved significantly with a surge in hiring figures. There were dozens of international offers from Quantbox, Rubrik, Da Vince, Square Point, TMSC.

A few domestic offers from Graviton, Rubrik and Quantbox crossed the Rs 1- crore mark.

Professor A. Rajakumar, chairman of the career development cell at IIT Kharagpur, and his team thanked all participating companies and hoped that corporates would continue their patronage in future.

In recognition of the excellent performances of students in internships, IIT Kharagpur students have already received over 400 pre-placement offers (PPOs).
