An Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and the Central Hindi Directorate (CHD) to provide a three-month online Basic Hindi Awareness programme for visitors.

The programme will start on November 16 and the ICCR has already received 226 registrations from nine different nations, i.e. For the international programme, Thailand, China, Mauritius, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Romania were included.

Students who are interested in learning Hindi can sign up through their embassies or on the ICCR website. By February 15, the programme ought to be finished. Students will receive a certificate at the end of the programme. A class may contain 200–250 students. IGNOU will give them access to study materials, audio-visual content, and more.

Professor Nageshwar Rao, vice chancellor of IGNOU, stated that the university is dedicated to using technology to promote Hindi throughout the world. To reach people worldwide and in several vernacular languages, the university has been utilising technology interventions, SWAYAM Prabha, as well as IGNOU's in-house TV programme "Gyan Darshan."
