ICFAI University Jharkhand hosts Educational Leadership Summit

ICFAI University in Jharkhand hosted an Educational Leadership Summit on March 31 with focus on innovation in the field of education to overcome the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the student community and innovative ways to impart education in the post-pandemic era.

More than 100 principals, directors, heads and teachers of schools and junior colleges of Jharkhand participated in the summit, which also hosted a panel discussion on ‘Innovation in Education’, ICFAI said in a press communique.

Arvind Kumar, registrar of the university, who also chaired the panel discussion, underlined the paradigm shift in the field of education in Jharkhand after the pandemic.

Welcoming the educational leaders to the summit, Sumit Rathaur, chief manager, ICFAI Group Information Department said, “ICFAI group is one of the reputed educational groups in India, with 11 universities throughout India imparting quality education in multi disciplines. The objective of the summit is to discuss the best innovative practices for imparting quality education in the post-pandemic era.”

 ICFAI University Jharkhand also announced the launch of ‘Swaadhyay’, a digital learning portal where both teachers and students remain engaged for optimum utilisation of digital resources. The teachers of the university use innovative digital educational technology tools such as Mentimeter, Quizzes, Virtual Labs  etc. to keep the students motivated in the classroom scenario, the varsity said in its communique.

Besides, students were encouraged to pursue Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in emerging technologies so that they can upskill themselves and be job-ready. 

Manoj Kumar, principal, Marwari College, Ranchi said that in the current education system students are sandwiched between securing marks and personality development. He also highlighted the salient features of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which includes hybrid model of academic delivery and “vocationalisation” of education.

TK Gupta, principal, LA Garden School, said that word of mouth publicity through happy students is very important in the admission process in schools and colleges.

SK Jha, principal, JN College, Dhurwa, Ranchi suggested that economically backward students should be helped to pursue education in  the private educational institutions in  Jharkhand.
