On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government will launch the "Vishwakarma Yojana" in the coming month, allocating between Rs 13,000 and Rs 15,000 crore to those with traditional talents.
In his speech to the country on the 77th anniversary of Independence Day, Modi stated that the program is specifically for skilled workers like barbers, goldsmiths, washermen, and other tradespeople.
The program will be introduced on Vishwakarma Jayanti the next month. The day of Vishwakarma Jayanti in 2023 is September 17.
PM Modi stated that the government would introduce the Vishwakarma Scheme for people with traditional skills in the following month with a budget of between Rs 13,000 and 15,000 crore.
