GATE 2023: Results Announced by IIT Kanpur, Only 18% Candidates Qualify

The GATE 2023 results were announced by the IIT Kanpur on 16 March 2023. 

In the 29 subjects for which the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2023 was held, around one lakh or 18 per cent of candidates have qualified, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has announced. 

This year, approximately 6.70 lakh candidates registered for the exam for 29 papers, out of which 5.17 lakh appeared for the test in more than 500 centres across the country.

The GATE 2023 results were announced by the IIT Kanpur on 16 March 2023.

“Around one lakh have qualified, which makes the the total pass percentage to 18 per cent. The overall attendance stood at 77 per cent,” as stated by the organising institute, IIT Kanpur in a press release. 

The GATE 2023 exam was held on 4, 5, 11 and 12 February 2023, in eight sessions. Out of the 29 papers, 12 papers registered more than 20 per cent qualified candidates. Among those, the Metallurgical Engineering paper records about 25 per cent qualified candidates making it the highest qualified percentage for GATE this year. 

The GATE 2023 scorecard will be available on 22 March instead of 21 March 2023. Candidates have until 31 May to download their scorecards from the portal.
