The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination - Preliminary (UPSC CSE 2024) is set to take place tomorrow June 16, 2024. To accommodate the large number of candidates, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) have announced that metro services will commence at 6AM on Sunday.
The UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 will begin at 9AM for the forenoon session and at 2PM for the afternoon session. It is crucial for candidates to note that entry to the exam venues will close 30 minutes prior to the start of each session on June 16.
In an official statement on X, DMRC revealed, “Metro train services on Phase-III sections, which usually begin at 8:00 am on Sundays, will start at 6:00 am this Sunday, June 16, 2024. This arrangement is made to facilitate candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Prelim) Examination by UPSC.”
The Phase-III sections affected by this schedule change include routes between Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal, Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City, Mundka-Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Badarpur Border-Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh), Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar, Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden, and Dhansa Bus Stand-Dwarka.
Later, NMRC also announced that metro services on the Aqua Line, connecting the twin cities, will start at 6AM to support UPSC aspirants.
Additionally, the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has confirmed that the Namo Bharat train services will operate from 6AM to 10PM on Sunday to assist candidates travelling to exam centres located near the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor.
These early transportation services are aimed at ensuring a smooth and timely arrival for all candidates appearing for the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024.
