Delhi Academy of Medical Sciences (DAMS) has launched a simulation-based medical education facility which can be used by novice, intermediate, and advanced level medical students to practice without causing harm to patients, DAMS said in a statement recently.

The academy has recently completed 22 years of its classroom programme and has a mobile app eMedicoz. The simulation-based medical education tool DAMS-SIM will be available at the Delhi-based centre of the academy.

The simulation-based education aims to enhance the students' learning from all perspectives, as it provides a structured, learner-centred environment, DAMS said in its statement.

Sumer Sethi, the founder of DAMS, said, “At DAMS, we are on a mission to make sure each medical student gets to learn from the best irrespective of their geographical location. We are now starting a new mission, DAMS-SIM, simulation-based skill training for medical students, at the Delhi centre this week.”

The eMedicoz app of DAMS, which has over half a million downloads, aims to bridge the gap among medical students preparing for various career opportunities at the post-doctoral level and provides them with a common platform where they can get useful information. It helps prepare for common national level examinations like NEET-PG and NEXT. The app also gives students the opportunity to discuss medical cases with their seniors and peers across the world.
