CLAT 2022 registration process begins; here's how to apply

The Consortium of National Law Universities has started the enrollment process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2022. Interested candidates can apply for it until March 31, 2022 through the official website i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

Eligibility criteria

For the undergraduate courses, a candidate must have completed their Class XII examinations and obtained a qualifying exam score of 45% for the unreserved category and 40% for the reserved category. The eligibility criteria for UG courses is that candidates  should have passed LLB or any other exam and should have scored 50% marks in the qualifying exam for the unreserved category and 45% marks for the reserved category. There is no age limit for the exam. 

How to apply for CLAT 2022: 

The application fee for CLAT 2022 is Rs 4,000 for  general candidates and those belonging to SC, ST category the fee is Rs 3,500. The cost of earlier years’ question papers is Rs 500.

The consortium has also reduced the counselling fee from Rs 50,000 to Rs 30,000 for candidates from the unreserved category. For reserved category students, the fee will be Rs 20,000.

CLAT is conducted for the candidates who want to take up undergraduate and postgraduate law courses in the 22 national law universities.

There are 120 questions in total for the PG exam and 150 questions for UG. Quantitative techniques, English, current affairs and general knowledge, legal reasoning, and logical reasoning are the five areas of the CLAT. One mark is awarded for each correct answer and the 0.25 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer.
