The decision has been taken keeping in mind students migrating from other countries
Students from foreign Boards will be granted admission considering equivalence of the classes in both Boards

The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) has dissolved its cumbersome procedure for international students joining its affiliated schools. Going forward, students will no longer require prior permission to join from foreign Boards of education.

The decision was taken after the Board authorities noticed a considerable number of foreign students applying for CBSE schools. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of Indian families have moved back. The children are opting for CBSE-affiliated schools. The admission to CBSE schools for foreign board students would be considered by comparing the equivalence of the classes of both the boards. An equivalency list for Classes X and XII of Foreign boards compared to CBSE classes has been also released on the official website of CBSE.

For the few Boards that may not be on the list, the schools can take provisional admission and then request for confirmation to the board through the schools. The request will have to be sent by the schools to the Joint Secretary (Coordination) CBSE, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi- 110092.

Both schools and students are looking forward to this decision to make admissions hassle-free for foreign candidates. The pandemic has already affected the education of children more or less from different backgrounds. The cumbersome procedure to change boards after moving from abroad would also be time consuming. Students also lost out on a few months or even a year completing the admissions. The Central Board of Secondary Examination has taken a number of measures already to make education affordable, easily available and technologically advanced since the pandemic created loss of learning in the country noticeably.
