In advance of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2022 results, which are expected to be released on 11 September 2022, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) offered live interactive sessions on Friday. The sessions were held with professor V Kamakoti, the institute's director, and professor Mahesh, its dean. Beginning on September 12, the admissions procedure. A website called askiitm.com has been made by the alumni as a part of the "AskIITM" event.

This platform allows students to ask inquiries regarding the institution. According to the institution, a page on Instagram with the handle @askiitm has been made to highlight the quality of life for current students as well as alumni success stories. According to prof. Kamakoti, IIT M is using this to connect with potential students and assist them by responding to their inquiries. On 3 & 4 September 2022, respectively, there are similar gatherings scheduled for Hyderabad and Vijayawada.

On 17 September 2022, there will also be a virtual tour named "Day at IIT Madras." Speaking during the live discussion were IIT-Madras graduates S Sidhartha Narayan, a member of the class of 2022, Amrutash Misra, a mechanical engineering alumna, and Amrit Vatsa, a civil engineering alumnus. The average CTC for the class of 2022, according to a study by the IIT-Madras placement committee, was Rs 18 lakh. With a CTC of more than Rs 1 crore, there were over 27 offers.
