BCI delays 18th qualifying exam for Indian nationals with foreign law degrees; Check dates

The qualifying exam for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees has been rescheduled by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The BCI 18th exam for foreign law degree holders will now be conducted from 19 to 24 December 2022. 

Earlier, the exam was supposed to be held from 5 December to 10 December. However, the latest notice by the BCI read, “The 18th Bar Council of India qualifying examination for Indian nationals holding foreign law degrees has been rescheduled to be held from December 19 to December 24, 2022, in the premises of the Bar Council of India at 21, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area, New Delhi.”

The Bar Council of India has also announced the syllabus for the Qualifying Examination for Indian Nationals Holding Foreign Law Degrees on the official website, barcouncilofindia.org. The exam will be including six papers, as per the announcement.

Paper 1 – Constitution

Paper 2 – Contract Law and Negotiable Instruments Act

Paper 3 – Company Law

Paper 4 – Civil Procedure Code and Limitation Act

Paper 5 – Criminal Procedure Code

Paper 6 – Indian Legal Profession and Code of Ethics.
