The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE Main 2024) registration dates and syllabus this week. As per reports, the aspirants can anticipate a streamlined syllabus for the JEE Main 2024, potentially lightening the academic load.
Subodh Kumar Singh, Director General of NTA, affirmed that comprehensive consultations with various educational boards have taken place. Drawing from these discussions, an expert committee is in the final stages of refining the JEE Main 2024 syllabus. The eagerly awaited JEE Main 2024 information bulletin, inclusive of application form dates, is expected to be released soon.
The JEE Main 2024 session 1 is scheduled from January 24 to February 1, 2024 followed by session 2, slated for April 1 to 15, 2024. Aspirants can access the JEE Main application form link through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
In the previous year, the NTA decided to provide choices in one section of each subject of paper 1 and in papers 2A and 2B. However, the prescribed number of questions to be attempted remained unchanged at 25 for physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
Following the recent release of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG 2024) syllabus by the National Medical Commission (NMC), students have fervently urged NTA to divulge the JEE syllabus. However, there was no clarity on reduction of NEET UG syllabus and some students have also pointed out errors in the notified syllabus.
The JEE Main syllabus includes a wide variety of topics from NCERT Class 11 and 12 subjects. Notably, several boards, including CBSE and CISCE, reduced the Class 12 syllabus in response to academic disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
