Anant National University (AnantU) invites entrepreneurs to apply for a full-time, one-year Entrepreneurs in Residence (EiR) programme at the university's Centre for Sustainability. The goal of this programme is to support selected entrepreneurs  working on sustainability, affordable housing, building construction, real estate, climate change, design, and prop-tech.

The following businesses were selected for the EiR programme's inaugural cohort:

Angirus: It delivers environmentally-friendly and sustainable technology to produce lightweight, damp-proof bricks and paver blocks.

Favo Robotics: It aspires to create accessible collaborative robots at a reasonable price that will lower the cost of building while increasing productivity and job quality.

Papaya: It seeks to enhance the menstruation experience for all women by identifying practical solutions.

Anant University offers complete direction and assistance to the current cohort in areas such as, product development, finding the necessary resources, finance, hiring teams, business knowledge, and technology support. It has also extended its campus space and physical infrastructures to these three enterprises, including the state-of-the-art Makerspace, library, working spaces, a pool of academics, researchers, and senior university students. An important advantage of the EiR programme is that participants may make use of the assistance of interns provided by the university. Participants can recruit some of the  best students as interns in their start-up for 100 hours.

Anunaya Chaubey, provost of AnantU, shared a few words about the EiR program, ‘“The EIR programme is designed to foster innovation in the built environment. It assists young entrepreneurs in bringing their ideas to life through its comprehensive expertise in the field, academic resources, industry mentors, and collaborations. It will also enrich the entrepreneurial culture on campus and provide chances for students to witness start-ups up and close.”

The Anant Centre for Sustainability is a 'think-teach-do' organisation in India that focuses on affordable housing, indigenous forms of circular economy, and the development of sustainable education campuses. The Centre publishes research papers, creates multimedia products, and offers sustainability-related courses and initiatives.
