Amity University Kolkata hosted a "Two-Day Workshop-cum-Seminar on New Criminal Laws" on November 14-15, 2024, organized by Amity Law School, Kolkata. The event commenced with a vibrant inaugural ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Sanjay Kumar, Registrar and Head of Institution Prof Dr Amrita Saha, and Hon’ble Justice Ranjit Kumar Bag. Their presence underscored the significance of the workshop in the evolving landscape of criminal law.
The first day of the event was dedicated to an intensive workshop, featuring four interactive sessions. Renowned speakers, including Hon’ble Justice Asim Kumar Roy, Shri Biswajit Mukherjee, Advocate Sabyasachi Chatterjee, and Prof Dr Kavita Singh, led discussions that encouraged active participation and knowledge sharing among attendees. Each session focused on contemporary challenges and innovations in criminal law, fostering a dynamic learning environment.
On the second day, the seminar transitioned to a hybrid format, allowing participants from across India to present their scholarly work. These technical sessions, chaired by esteemed academicians, provided a platform for emerging legal scholars to share insights and engage in meaningful dialogue on new developments in criminal legislation. The diverse range of topics showcased the participants’ dedication to advancing legal understanding and practice.
The event concluded with impactful closing remarks from Hon’ble Justice Madhumati Mitra and Shri Anirban Das, who highlighted the importance of continual learning in the legal field.
