For Ph.D. programmes, Allahabad University has started the admissions process. A total of 709 seats are available for doctoral programmes in 43 subjects through the Combined Research Entrance Exam (CRET)-2022, comprising 316 in central varsity departments and centres and 393 in constituent colleges.
At Prayagraj, the test will be conducted in offline mode. The last date to apply is 14 March 2023
The CRET Level-1 and Level-2 exams must be taken by NET/JRF candidates. Army officers, university or constituent college teacher candidates, and international applicants are exempt from the CRET Level-1 test. Yet they are required to take the CRET Level-2 test. Similarly, all applicants, including NET/JRF, are required to present in the Level-1 examination (apart from those who are exempt from CRET Level-1).
There will be two papers for the CRET-2022 Level-I exam, the first of which will consist of 50 objective-type questions 2 marks each. There will be 25 questions from research methodologies that are objective in nature and 25 questions that are topic-specific. There is no negative marking in the examination.
