From making a sky surfer to pilot training, participants learnt a lot at a three-day aeromodelling workshop hosted by the Aerospace Society of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra.

The workshop covered piloting, aeromodelling, analysis of in-flight issues, pre-flight check-ins and flight testing. The sessions were mentored by aerospace enthusiast Vibhu Narain Mathur. PhD scholar Shuvendra Mohan also pitched in.

The inaugural day concluded with a test.

On the second day, the participants received hands-on flight training from Narain with five successful flight attempts. The afternoon session was held in the Space Engineering and Rocketry department.

The workshop included simulation practice sessions conducted by Narain.

Participants were given a chance to fly their own aircraft based on simulation practice and workshop training in the afternoon session.

The evening session was held at the cricket stadium.

The third and final session of the workshop was held at the cricket grounds of the sports complex.

Faculty advisor Priyank Kumar, assistant professor of Space Engineering and Rocketry, was also present at the workshop.
