Scheduled for four categories—lower primary, upper primary, high school, and language teachers specializing in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu—the KTET 2023 exam holds significance for teacher recruitment in Kerala. Notably, CTET primary stage qualifiers are exempt from KTET category 1, while those who cleared CTET elementary are excused from KTET category 2.

Candidates with qualifications such as NET, SET, MPhil, PhD, and MEd enjoy similar exemptions across categories 1 to 4. Furthermore, success in KTET category 3 opens doors to eligibility for category 2.
