The physical books in various languages, including English and Bengali, will be available only in the third week of June. In light of the circumstances, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education has undertaken the initiative of making the same available for students and teachers by uploading their PDF copies on the official website.

Starting today, PDF versions of language books will be accessible to all at no cost and that will facilitate easy access to educational material. The PDF uploads will include books for six languages taught at the higher secondary level, including English and Bengali. With the exception of Santhali and Urdu, the other languages encompass two papers, each. .

This initiative is expected to significantly reduce the wait time for students to receive their educational materials. According to sources, the existing process involves multiple stages starting from the books arriving at the Education Department to the State Textbook Corporation, then being proofread, revised, and finally distributed to district offices and schools.

It is important to note that books on 52 other subjects have already begun to circulate in the market. Although it will still take some time for all titles to reach students, efforts are underway to expedite this process and ensure timely delivery.

The West Bengal higher secondary exam results were declared on May 8, and schools have since been busy with admissions. However, the shortage of physical books has posed a challenge in starting online classes under the new semester system.

The Council's latest initiative aims to address this issue by ensuring that students have immediate access to their required texts.
