The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB), in an official notification, released today, on February 28, has invited applications to fill up 3734 vacancies for Constable/ Lady Constable in Kolkata Police(2024) posts. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to submit their applications online through the official website - wbpolice.gov.in. The application window will remain active from March 1 (00:01 hours) to March 29 (23:59 hours).

- Constable - 3464
- Lady Constable - 270
As per the official notification, “Total vacancies as stated above are purely provisional and subject to marginal changes”.
Age Limit
- Candidate’s age must be between 18 to 30 years of age as of January 1, 2024.
- In the case of SC/ST candidates and Civic Volunteers, the upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years, 3 years for OBC-A/B, and Third Gender/Transgender candidates.
Qualification
- Educational - Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
- Language - Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali. However, this requirement does not apply to permanent residents of hill sub-divisions in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.
Mode of Selection
Candidates will be selected for the Constable/Lady Constable posts based on their performance in the Preliminary Written Test which will act as a screening examination followed by the Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Final Written Examination and Interview, conducted by WBPRB.
