Econspire, the Economics Club of the Business Administration Department of University of Engineering and Management, Kolkata is organising their first ever Debate Competition- Speakathon: The Ultimate Debate Face-Off at our University Campus in Newtown on 7 October, 2023.
The primary goal of our fest is to foster insightful discussions through debate and encourage critical thinking among our students. It also aims to promote the Economics club of the BA department of UEM, Kolkata and make people aware about the events we are organising and will further organise in future.

Econspire, the Economics Club of UEM KOLKATA, Department of Business Administration, in collaboration with Edugraph, presents a unique debate competition. Participants are arranged in a group of 6 in which 3 will speak for the motion and the other 3 will speak against the motion. The debate comprises preliminary and Mains round with the format emphasising both argument and rebuttal. The criteria for judgment include content, delivery style, and rebuttal proficiency. All participants receive a certificate, while the top three debaters earn special awards. The judges' decision is final, and the event has generated significant excitement and interest among prospective participants.
