As the city is enjoying Spring and gearing up to welcome Monsoon, St. Paul’s Cathedral Mission College students are about to witness the most prominent annual festivity of their college life: Nexus. Standing at the heart of Amherst Street, this 150-plus-year-old college boasts a sprawling green campus and one of the oldest libraries under Calcutta University.

Since its inception in 2011, Nexus has enjoyed the participation of students from 30-40 Kolkata colleges. Still, the cherry on top of the cake is the host of talented artists that have previously performed at Nexus (Nakash Aziz, Amit Mishra, Fossils, Mamta Sharma, Anupam Roy, Jubin Nautiyal) and will perform for the upcoming Nexus: the folk powerhouse, Tanmay Kar and Friends on 27th March and the electrifying duo of Nikhita Gandhi and Underground Authority on 28th March.

With over 25 cultural, academic and sporting events, Nexus wouldn’t be Nexus without the students and the students’ union of St. Paul’s. Preparations for Nexus begin earnestly a month prior to the fest with meticulously planning each individual event, sending out invites to other colleges, preparing lists of participants, taking auditions for cultural events, assigning volunteers, getting them accustomed to their duties, and distributing passes.
