For 17-year-old Saanvi, life has not been a bed of roses. She has toiled day in and out to make a place for herself in table tennis. A vibrant sportsperson, Saanvi is presently ranked at Number 2 in the Under-17 category while in the Under-19 category, she is ranked 1.

Saanvi practices for eight hours a day and balances both sports and studies together. Her constant hard work has brought her fame not only at the National level but at the international arena as well, making her the rightful winner of The Telegraph Online Edugraph 18 under 18 Awards.

"I am overwhelmed to receive this award. Being able to receive this award is a great honour for me. It is one of the most precious things that has happened in my life. I have won many awards before, but this is special for me," said Saanvi.

"This award has made me more ambitious and hardworking towards my game. I wish to take up table tennis as a career in future and represent India in the 2028 Olympic Games and make my country proud," she added.

A dancer since her childhood, Saanvi has made various stage performances and enjoys reading novels and painting as well. She belives in reaching her goals slowly and has step by step approach in achieving them.

"People have so much aspirations in life that often these expectations lead to self-doubt and frustration. So, I want to achieve my goals slowly, in a step by step manner. At first, I want to become a national champion followed by Senior National Champion," she said.

Her eight hour long training schedule, however has not come in the course of her studies. A brilliant student from Kalyani Public School, Barasat, Saanvi has a tough time in managing both studies and sports. Yet, she manages to score pretty well in academics.

"It is not easy to manage the academic excellence along with such hard training and tournaments. I have tuitions online in the afternoon which is my only free time. I study alone in the evening to secure good marks in the examinations," said Saanvi.
