15-year-old Aarav Kumar of Birla High School was announced as one of the winners of The Telegraph Online Edugraph 18 under 18 Awards 2024 for his outstanding accomplishments. As the proverb goes, ‘Knowledge is Power’, Aarav is truly an all-rounder with experience of participating in 70+ quizzes, and winning multiple best quizzer awards. He was one of the participating members of the prestigious Ultimate Sports Quiz 2023 hosted by Harsh Bhogle, and his team was declared the winner for demonstrating unparalleled knowledge in sports.

Speaking to Aarav after his 18 under 18 Awards win, he recalls, “I am thrilled and truly honoured to be the recipient of such a prestigious award. I am thankful to everyone who helped me in my journey. The Award ceremony was truly captivating, with song and dance performances and I was greatly inspired by the speech of our Honourable Chief Guest, Mrs Sudha Murthy. It was motivational and deeply insightful. My takeaway from this programme was the importance of always continuing to strive towards excellence in one’s field, overcoming any hurdles in the way.”

Equally impressive is the boy’s proficiency in essay writing. Writing on “Sustainable Urban Transportation in Urban Areas of Asia,” Aarav was given the TS Elliot Best Essay award for the HPAIR Art and Essay Contest, organised by Harvard University in the year 2023. He has also been awarded a Bronze Medal in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Contest 2022, one of the oldest international essay writing competitions.

Also apart from that, my favourite subjects include Political Science, Social Science, and History, among others.”
