Folk Melodies, an enthralling and frolic Fashion Show organised by the Department of History, Amity Institute of Social Sciences, Amity University Kolkata on 28 April 2023.
The event showcased both Indian and Global representation of various Indigenous/ Tribal/Folk culture through the mode of their Sartorial Choices
It essentially intended to capture the historical journey of fabrics, weaving methods, accessories that emerged “fashionable” throughout the various phases of historical development. The participants throughout West Bengal prepared costumes/ dress based on different indigenous sartorial themes, from “Pre-Modern”, “Modern” and “Post-Modern” period performed.
This spectacular event represented various indigenous cultures through their sartorial history.
The entire auditorium reverberated with applause and excitement of both audience and participants.
