Calcutta Boys' School hosted the 42nd edition of their prestigious inter-school fest, Concord 2024, from July 3 to July 5, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of youthful energy and talent. The event, renowned as the oldest inter-school fest in Kolkata, saw enthusiastic participation from 21 schools across West Bengal, competing in over 35 diverse events.
The festivities kicked off with an elegant Opening Ceremony on July 3 at the school's Chapel, graced by eminent personalities like Mr Debashis Dutta of CII and Secretary of Mohun Bagan Club, alongside acclaimed director Mr Pathikrit Basu. This grand inauguration set the tone for the exhilarating days ahead.
Concord 2024 celebrated a range of talents across sports and performing arts, offering students a platform to showcase their skills in events like chess, football, basketball, visual poetry slam, moot court, beatboxing, IPL auction, fan fiction drama, and many more. The fest was not only a competition but a testament to the vibrant spirit and creativity of the youth.
The finals were held on July 5 at Kala Mandir, where standout events such as western dance, fashion shows, and western band performances captivated the audience. The day culminated in the grand prize distribution ceremony. The Closing Ceremony, adorned by the presence of Tollywood actress Mrs Devlina Kumar and RJ Mr Somak Ghosh, was a fitting conclusion to the spectacular fest. The evening's highlight was a power-packed performance by Bollywood playback singer Lakshya Kapoor, leaving the audience enthralled.
La Martiniere for Boys emerged victorious, claiming the coveted title of Concord 2024 champions, with DPS Newtown securing the runner-up position. Beyond the competitive spirit, the event succeeded in forging lasting bonds and creating unforgettable memories among the participants.
