B.D.M. International took the proud privilege of felicitating Mr. Achintya Sheuli, the Gold Medal Winner at weight lifting in the CommonWealth Games, 2022. This cordial felicitation programme was organised on 16 August, 2022 at Gemstone Auditorium.
Mr. Achintya Sheuli, the renowned athlete, his elder brother Alok Sheuli and all the dignitaries were given a hearty welcome with the beats of the School Band and rose petals were showered onto this sports maestro to honour him. He was presented a bouquet of reverence by the members of the Student Council. The Principal Ms. Madhumita Sengupta handed over pot plants to the dignitaries to foster a lasting bond. The School Choir rendered a beautiful musical medley of Tagorian songs in multilingual versions to add a global dimension to this grand occasion. The School Video was played to portray the glimpses of some of the notable school activities. A brief but heart-touching video was prepared and presented by the students highlighting Mr. Achintya Sheuli's remarkable achievements as a weightlifter.
The CEO Mr. S.L. Gupta felicitated Mr. Achintya Sheuli, in presence of all the dignitaries- Mr. Sushil Poddar, Mr. C.K. Vardrajan, Mr. P.L. Shah-the Honourable Members of CWBTA. A cheque worth Rupees One Lakh was handed over to this young and dynamic Indian Weightlifter as a token of honour. Mr. Alok Sheuli, his elder brother was also given a school memento as an acknowledgement of his constant support and selfless sacrifice to his brother's journey of trials and tribulations as an athlete.
Mr. Achintya's talismanic presence and insightful words definitely touched the young minds of the Senior Secondary Students who were present in the auditorium as enthusiastic spectators. His simple but eloquent words of motivation ignited each soul present in this august gathering and made them admire how, in spite of coming from a humble rural background, this illustrious personality had overcome the odds of life through his iron will and sheer determination. He emphasised the need for having a futuristic vision and encouraged all to utilise and explore the facilities, whatever they may be, to the fullest in order to fulfil their dreams.
This red-letter day will surely remain etched in the golden history of B.D.M.International. The Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem marked the ending of this wonderful felicitation programme.
