All papers except the art ones will start at 2pm.

The council has said there will be a “small increase” in the percentage of “higher order and critical thinking questions” in this year’s exams compared with previous years. The share of such questions will keep increasing over the years.

“It is important for the students to know the text well. They have prepared for the examinations and should remain calm and collected,” said Terence Ireland, principal of St James’ School.

The examinees have been asked to reach their schools on time so they have sufficient time to enter the examination hall and prepare themselves for writing the papers.

“We seat the students in the examination hall much in advance so that they can
listen to the instructions,” said Ireland.

The examinees will write the ISC papers from their respective schools. Invigilators come from other schools.

“Students are given a reading time before they start writing. We tell our students that they should utilise the reading time properly and read the questions twice before answering them,” said Sujoy Biswas, principal of Rammohan Mission High School.

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has posted a message on its website wishing the students “All The Very Best” for the exams.

“Wishing all the candidates appearing for the ISC Year 2024 Examination beginning from Monday, 12th February, All The Very Best. Be confident, stay calm and believe in yourself,” the message reads.
