In July 1997, the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi, founded the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata (AIM Kolkata), a NAAC-accredited and ISO 9001:2015-certified Institute, to offer management programmes to both army children and civilian students. AIM Kolkata is a recognised business school (B-School) by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), Kolkata, formerly known as the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
AIM Kolkata solely offers an MBA programme. Admission to AIM Kolkata is done online, and the application form is available on the college's website, https://www.aim.ac.in. For entry into the MBA programme, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum GPA of 50%. AIM Kolkata employs reputed professors with backgrounds in prestigious B-Schools and corporations. The faculty's goal is to empower students by offering them practical, innovative, and technologically advanced management programmes.
AIM Kolkata relocated to its newly built permanent campus in Rajarhat, Kolkata, after residing in the Alipore campus for two illustrious decades. The campus, which spans 6 acres, was created to be environmentally sustainable according to international standards to ensure effective resource usage. The campus is located outside of Kolkata, away from the bustle of the city, and is bordered by other educational institutions to give an ideal setting for advancing education. Rajarhat has an advantage over other institutions in terms of corporate exposure because it is Kolkata's centre for information technology and is close to other business districts.
AIM Kolkata has a stellar placement record, mostly as a result of the traits of our multicultural, international millennial students. The Corporate Relationship, Training & Placement Cell conducts mock group discussions, provides helpful interview advice, and frequently provides business information. AIM Kolkata places its students in reputed companies like PwC INDIA, TCS, Federal Bank, ERNST & YOUNG, DECATHLON SPORTS, etc. Additionally, AIM Kolkata offers scholarships such as Army Commander's Scholarship, Chairman's Scholarship, TATA Merit Scholarship, and awards like Awards of Academic Excellence, Army Commander's Incentive Awards, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) All Round Best Student Rolling Trophy etc.
