Amid the mounting suspense over the Amethi and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seats, the Congress asserted that 'nobody is scared' and a decision on the matter would be announced in the next 24-30 hours. "My expectation is that in the next 24-30 hours, the Congress president will finalise and a decision taken by him will be announced," Jairam Ramesh said in response to a question at a press conference at the AICC headquarters.

Lt Governor VK Saxena said that Delhi Police has traced the origin of the bomb threat emails that were sent to at least 100 schools in the Delhi-NCR area, and assured that the culprits will be given strict punishment. Saxena visited DAV school in Model Town area that also received the bomb threat.

Jharkhand Congress president Rajesh Thakur was summoned by the Delhi Police on May 2 in connection with its investigation into the doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a party spokesperson said. "I received the notice from the Delhi Police on Tuesday. But, it is beyond my understanding why the notice was served to me. This is nothing but anarchy," Thakur said.

Jet fuel or ATF price was hiked by a marginal 0.7 per cent while rates of commercial LPG used by establishments such as hotels and restaurants was cut by Rs 19 per cylinder in line with international prices. The increase reverses the marginal 0.5 per cent cut effected on April 1.

Close on the heels of Arvinder Singh Lovely resigning from the post of Congress' Delhi unit chief, former party MLAs Neeraj Basoya and Naseeb Singh have quit the party in protest against the alliance with AAP. In separate letters to Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Neeraj Basoya and Naseeb Singh, who are AICC observers for West Delhi and North West Delhi Lok Sabha seats respectively, claimed the Congress workers are 'upset' and feel 'humiliated' due to the alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party.

Jamshyd Naoroji Godrej and his sister Smita Crishna Godrej-controlled Godrej & Boyce will hold the exclusive construction rights over a vast land bank, including a prime 3,000 acre-property in Mumbai, they got as part of the family agreement that split the Godrej empire, as per sources and regulatory filing. The former will lead Godrej Industries Group, comprising listed companies, including Godrej Industries Ltd, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Godrej Properties Ltd, Godrej Agrovet Ltd and Astec Lifesciences Ltd.

India successfully flight tested the supersonic missile-assisted release of torpedo (SMART) system from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast, a defence official said. Several state-of-the-art mechanisms such as symmetric separation, ejection and velocity control have been validated in this test, the defence official said.

An accused arrested in connection with firing at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan attempted suicide in the lock-up of Mumbai Police's crime branch on Wednesday and died in a hospital where he was rushed to, an official said. An accidental death report will be registered at Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai.

TV actor Rupali Ganguly, famous for her roles in TV serials such as Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Anupamaa, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Vinod Tawde welcomed Ganguly and Joshi into the party fold and used the opportunity to attack the opposition parties over Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Maria Alam's appeal for "vote jihad".
