Streaming platform Amazon Prime Video on Thursday teased the premiere date announcement of the much-awaited third season of hit crime thriller series Mirzapur starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Shweta Tripathi Sharma.

One of the pictures shows Pankaj Tripathi, who plays Akhandanand Tripathi alias Kaleen Bhaiya on the show, engaged in a serious discussion on phone. The picture also features a funny caption, which reads, “Aaj kal MS3W bhut sunne mai aa rha hai (These days we are hearing a lot about Mirzapur Season 3).”

Another picture shows Ali Fazal’s Govind Pandit aka Guddu Bhaiya speaking to Priyanshu Painyuli’s Radheshyam Agarwal. The caption on the picture reads, “Bhaukaal macha denge agar nahi bataoge MS3W (We will cause chaos if you don’t tell us when Mirzapur Season 3 will release)”. Additional pictures show Pankaj Tripathi inquiring about the release date, and a final picture features Divyenndu’s Phoolchand Tripathi speaking to Isha Talwar’s Madhuri. The caption written on the photo reads, “Ek last baar ijjat se asking MS3W (Respectfully asking for the release date of Mirzapur Season 3 one last time)”.

The post prompted fans of the gritty underworld drama to speculate if the captions dropped any hint about the release date of the series. “Month September Third week =MS3W,” observed one social media user.

Directed by Gurmeet Singh and produced by Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur delves into gang wars and illegal weapon trade in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In a recent interview with Mumbai-based storytelling platform Humans of Bombay, Divyenndu revealed he will not return as Munna Bhaiya in the third season of the series, following his character’s death in the second season, which premiered in October 2020.
