Besides Fortnite, here are some video games that have us hooked

Salvation for the seemingly irredeemable Kratos isn’t an easy task, nor is breathing fresh life into an action series that had begun to lose its lustre. God of War achieves both in sensational fashion. The furious combat and gorgeous exploration is the best it has ever been, opening up the land of Midgard for the biggest God of War yet. But in tandem with that is an effecting and deftly-told story, with the relationship between Kratos and Atreus forming its beating heart. Its greatest achievement is humanising Kratos without shying away from his violent past.

Let’s Unfold, the app that’s making Instagram Stories appear cooler

In the US, Android users are spending 49.5 minutes per day on Snapchat and 58.5 minutes on Facebook. According to SimilarWeb, sandwiched between the two is Instagram with 53.2 minutes. Compare the data for June 2018 with that of October 2017 when Snapchat was ahead of the curve with 42.4 minutes against Instagram’s 37.1 minutes. That’s a huge improvement and it has a lot to do with one feature — Stories, which Instagram copied from its competition two years ago.

TV, at your beck and call

Watching TV is a hassle for me these days. You have to juggle two remote controls if you are at home. In a hotel, you also have the air-conditioner remote that's only slightly different from the other two. So when you are in a hurry to watch the news, you have to call somebody - a smart child at home or a reluctant room service personnel in the hotel - just to lead you to a decent news channel. If none of them arrive in time, you lose patience and start cursing the new technology and your techno phobia. What's a minor hassle for me is actually a huge headache for my 88-year-old aunt who mostly lives alone and whose closest companion is her TV.

The Nex is Vivo’s most ambitious phone so far, one that takes a serious shot at the dream of an all-screen smartphone. From the elevating pop-up front camera that rises from the top edge, to the screen that vibrates to act as an earpiece and even the fingerprint and ambient light sensors embedded below the display, the Nex pulls out all the stops to deliver a flagship smartphone with an impressive 91.24 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
