Actor Chaiti Ghoshal’s debut film as a director, Nevermind, is all set to release in theatres on July 3. On June 2, the team gathered for the poster launch of the film at Hashtag Kolkata. Produced by Bhavna Aaj O Kal, the film stars Rituparna Sengupta and Amartya Ray in lead roles. Set against the neon-lit streets of Calcutta, Nevermind unfolds over the course of a single restless day, following Trina Lahiri (played by Rituparna Sengupta) and her meeting with Jude (portrayed by Amartya Ray), a mysterious bar singer.

Navigating conflicts, their individual past secrets and buried truth, the evening changes everything for them. As an emotional thriller set in urban space, Nevermind plunges into themes of longing, reckoning, and the weight of surviving with the unsaid. The poster launch of the film brought together its cast, crew and creative team, including musician Rupam Islam, writers Samrat and Mitali Ghoshal, cast members Anusha Viswanathan, Subhasish Mukhopadhyay, Subhrajit Datta, and Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, among others.

The unveiling of the poster by legendary singer Usha Uthup made the evening more memorable for all. “Nevermind will connect to every generation of cinephiles, specially the GenZ. On this musical film, I play the role of Trina Lahiri who is searching for redemption,” said Rituparna Sengupta.

Chaiti Ghoshal said: “This poster unveiling was the most important moment for me as it was the first communication from me to my audience. It was the moment for me and it was possible because Rituparna not only acted in the film, but also produced it. Rupam, Samrat, Mitali and most of my cast were present. That makes it more special as I feel I have worked with the team as a community.”

Actor Amartya Ray added: “It’s a big privilege to be part of this film because I believe it is something very contemporary, new age and young in its aesthetics and vibe. Me and my mother have always been the best of friends and tight collaborators, so working with her felt the most natural thing to do. The poster launch felt like a fever dream. As though what we dreamt across sleepless nights was finally coming true washed with red and pink neon lights.”

“I am the music director of the film and there are three songs in this film. I am the voice of the film as well as of Jude, Amartya’s character. The album will have four songs. The neon colour in the poster is significant for the film and gets reflected in the songs, too,” said Rupam Islam.

Usha Uthup, who unveiled the poster, said: “I can say about Rupam that his voice in so many ways sound like mine. I mistook his voice as mine. That’s what music does it has no barriers. Never mind the age or anything… the most important thing is we are talking about Park Street.”
