A 17-year-old domestic help has accused her employers — a lawyer couple — and some of their friends, including a police officer, of sexual harassment.

The girl told police that on one occasion a “tall, middle-aged policeman in khaki” tried to touch her. Only home guards and IPS officers wear khaki in the city police force. She has not been able to identify the cop but has mentioned another policeman named Milan in the FIR.

“A case has been lodged with Phoolbagan police station but the accused are absconding. The person the complainant referred to as a policeman is yet to be identified,” said the joint commissioner (crime), Pallab Kanti Ghosh.

Insiders, however, said “Milan” is an additional officer-in-charge in the south suburban division. Sources also said accused Sabyasachi Roy Chowdhury, a lawyer, met an ADG-rank officer in south Calcutta on Tuesday. Roy Chowdhury, the girl has alleged, had taken her in a beacon-fitted car to a house where the cop in khaki was waiting.

The accused, including the girl’s employers Lovely Chaddha and Subrata Misra, have been charged with sexual harassment, wrongful confinement, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation and conspiracy. They have also been booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
