Balasore: Police launched a manhunt to nab the culprits, who had allegedly trafficked a 15-year-old girl, while arrested three persons for allegedly raping another 16-year-old girl.
In the first case, the girl had been sexually exploited for about 40 days in a Calcutta brothel. Later, after escaping from the place, she lodged a police complaint.
The girl told the police that two persons from her village, Kotasahi, had conspired and taken her to Calcutta with a promise that she would be given a job. Later, she was sold to a pimp.
Jaleswar police station inspector-in-charge Pradeep Nayak said a case was registered under various sections of the IPC. The accused are absconding.
The girl alleged that Ajay Jena, 30, of her village had convinced her to move to Calcutta for getting a "decent" job. On July 23, one Ajay Hembram, 30, of the same village took her there in a bus. Later, the duo had raped and left her there. Before she could realise their further activities, she landed in a brothel and was forced into flesh trade. A male pimp told her that she had been purchased from them.
The teen had been subjected to physical and mental torture without adequate foods in the brothel. But, she managed to escape from the clutches of the pimp finding an opportunity, she told the police.
In another development, the police arrested three of five persons, who had allegedly raped a 16-year old minor girl for months. Her parents lodged a police complaint after getting to know that the girl was seven-month pregnant.
Her parents used to work in brick kilns away from home and the accused committed the offence against the girl of the same village, finding her alone. The accused are Kadu Murmu, 55, Mithun Hansda, 30, and Paran Soren, 38, residents of Olomara village.
The girl said two other persons, Ganesh Bindhani, 20, and Ajay Hansda, 25, of the same village had also raped her. But, the duo are absconding. Raibania police station officer-in-charge Rabindra Behera said: "Her statement before the magistrate under CrPc 164 is being recorded."
