Nabard stresses on agri capital

Chief general manager of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) M. K. Mudgal on Friday said that an overall credit potential of Rs 71,419.85 crore had been projected by the bank for Odisha under priority sector for 2018-19.

Bhubaneswar: Chief general manager of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) M. K. Mudgal on Friday said that an overall credit potential of Rs 71,419.85 crore had been projected by the bank for Odisha under priority sector for 2018-19.

Mudgal, who reviewed the performance of Nabard in Odisha on Friday, told newspersons that they were laying special emphasis on capital formation in agriculture through enhancement of investment credit.

He said Nabard was promoting farmers' and producers' organisations to collectivise small and marginal farmers with the objective to ensure competitive price for their inputs and remunerative price for their produce. Mudgal said: "Hundred FPOs have been promoted and registered in Odisha during 2016-17."
