Fast-track push for major projects

Implementation of large investment projects in the state were put to fast track with resolution of the impending issues and removal of the ground-level bottlenecks.

Bhubaneswar: Implementation of large investment projects in the state were put to fast track with resolution of the impending issues and removal of the ground-level bottlenecks.

Chairing the project monitoring group meeting at the state secretariat here on Monday, chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi directed the concerned departments and project proponents to carry out constant monitoring at the execution level for completion of the projects within scheduled limits.

Joint secretary in the Prime Ministers' Office Subha Kumari and director S.D. Sharma were present at the meeting as part of the joint initiative for expeditious implementation of the projects. "Today, we reviewed 28 projects, mainly the railway, national highways and the coal mine ones. The implementation issues raised by project developers are discussed and resolved in this meeting held every two months. Today's review shows that the projects are on the time line, and the issues raised by some project implementation agencies have been resolved completely."

Principal secretary, PPP and convenor of the state project monitoring group Pradeep Kumar Jena outlined the issues flagged by project proponents for discussion at the meeting.
