Couple die in fire

Jorhat, Nov. 10: Ram Vilas Shah, 65, and his wife Leelawati Devi, 55, were charred to death when their house caught fire at Makum Road in Tinsukia district last night.

Meeting

Man arrested

Kokrajhar: A youth, identified as Mukta Baro, was arrested for trying to threaten the Bodoland Territorial Council executive member in charge of food and civil supplies Lwmsrao Daimary, with a grenade at his residence in Khairabari of Udalduri district on Saturday evening.

Shot dead

Kokrajhar: Unidentified gunmen shot dead Moniram Narzary, 42, a PWD employee, at JD Road, in the heart of Kokrajhar town on Sunday around 6.30pm.
