NISA emerge champions

Imphal, Oct. 9: NISA were crowned champions, with a prize-money of Rs 2 lakh, in the 6th Manipur State League 2011-12, while Manipur Police Sports Club got the runners-up title with Rs 1 lakh.

The Fair Play team trophy was given to Anouba Imagi Mangal along with Rs 50,000.

NISA player L. Nabachandra Singh was named Best Player of the tournament and Th. Vandona Singh of North Eastern Reorganising and Cultural Association was topscorer with a prize of Rs 20,000 each.

Among the 10 teams in the league, Youth Welfare Club Thambalkhong and Youth Development Organisation got relegated into Super Division with their poor performance, managing only 10 points and two points respectively.

NISA finished with 21 points, Manipur Police Sports Club with 15 points, Anouba Imagi Mangal with 14, North Eastern Reorganising and Cultural Association with 14 points, Southern Sporting Union with 13, United Sporting Association with 11, Tiddim Road Athletic Association with 11 and Tiddim Road Unique Gamy Players Union with 11 points.
