April 29: Fashionistas of the region are in for a rare treat with fashion designer Dipankar Kashyap set to release his maiden celluloid venture, Bukuwe Bisare.

Kashyap announced the launch of his directorial debut in March this year with actors Ravi Sarma, Jerifa Wahid and Kapil Bora playing the lead roles. After a whirlwind schedule of shooting in exotic locales in Kalimpong and Sikkim, the film is set for a quick release.

The music launch of the movie at the mega store, Music Point, witnessed a blend of glamour and elan. National award-winning actress, Moloya Goswami, formally launched the audio cassette of Bukuwe Bisare, along with popular Assamese actor, Jatin Bora.

The duo showered lavish praise on the designer for his efforts. The movie is the brainchild of Kashyap, who has not only directed but also scripted and designed the costumes of the film. Bukuwe Bisare has been produced by Dipankar’s sister, Shikha Kashyap, and Dipali Chowdhury.

“This is a story of friendship and love. It is a complete family entertainer,” Kashyap said at the launch. “I hope everyone enjoys it,” he added. “This is a great business venture. I congratulate Dipankar on his latest work and wish him all the best for it,” actor Jatin Bora enthused.

“I admire Dipankar’s attempt to bring new talents to the fore. I can say this as he helped both my daughters,” Moloya Goswami said.

Goswami’s younger daughter Nimisha has made her debut as a playback singer in this film. All the songs of the movie have been sung by newcomers like Anindita Pal, Amit Pal, Kallol Borthakur and Nimisha.

Prashanta Morang, a new talent on the block, has penned the lyrics.
