Congress aspirants in Delhi rush

Guwahati, March 11: Rajiv Bhawan, the Assam Congress headquarters, today wore a deserted look after a week?s frenzy displayed by ticket-seekers and their supporters, as the scene of action shifted to New Delhi.

The list of candidates for the first phase of Assembly elections on April 3 will be declared in New Delhi on Tuesday. The same day, the working president will be named to run the party and its campaign till incumbent president Bhuba-neswar Kalita, who is contesting from Rangia, was free.

A senior party functionary said almost all ticket seekers and their supporters had shifted base after the PCC election committee, which met here yesterday, shortlisted the candidates for the approval of the screening committee in New Delhi.
