The Nagaland chief minister's office (CMO) tonight described T.R. Zeliang's signature on an March 8 official document as chief minister even though he had stepped down in February, as a "clerical error".

Guwahati, March 17: The Nagaland chief minister's office (CMO) tonight described T.R. Zeliang's signature on an March 8 official document as chief minister even though he had stepped down in February, as a "clerical error".

The document, a list of beneficiaries of a road project, had gone viral.

The CMO said his designation was not corrected by staffers during a review of the January 23 decision taken by Zeliang with his successor Shürhozelie Liezietsu on March 8.
