Aizawl: Mizoram governor Kummanam Rajasekharan on Tuesday lauded Mizoram University and said it was the pride of the state and will soon be the pride of the country. He was inaugurating an incubation centre at the university at Tanhril near Aizawl on Tuesday.

Addressing a gathering, the governor said the incubation centre will be of immense value to the state and the Northeast.

He said India's destiny depends on the entrepreneurs and the way they build themselves. He stressed the need to have a higher benchmark for education and that innovation was the key to entrepreneurship.

He hoped that the incubation centre would step in as a vanguard of innovative entities, evolving into start-ups and moving towards drivers of economic growth.

University vice-chancellor professor K.R.S. Sambasiva Rao termed the day as historic and golden.

He said incubation centres cater to the needs of people having novel ideas and provide them facilities to work with their ideas.

He added that the incubation centre was open to those people interested to work in those fields apart from their curriculum.

This incubation centre is the first of its kind to be hosted by a central university in the eastern region.
