Kokrajhar, July 15: Lok Sabha MP from Kokrajhar, Sansuma Kunggur Bwiswmuthiary, met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi yesterday to apprise them about the overall situation here.

He spoke to them about the shoddy development scenario, owing to lack of funds, and on bringing about a lasting and amicable solution to the Bodoland statehood demand, under the provisions of Article 2 and 3 of the Constitution.

“The Congress president gave a patient hearing and assured that all genuine demands would be examined,” Bwiswmuthiary said.

“I have also appealed to the Prime Minister to take appropriate steps to concede to all the demands on the eve of the forthcoming presidential elections. He assured me that he would take up the matter in a positive way,” he added.

The Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) also submitted a memorandum, containing 20-point charter of demands, to both Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh.
