The 12-hour Assam strike called by several Mising organisations against restarting of an eviction drive after three months partially located district act of An eviction drive was carried out in Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary inGuwahati to free the illegally occupied forest area... The previous eviction drive was carried out on the directive of Gauhati High Court. The protesters shouted slogans like "Tez dim, mati nidiu (we will give blood, not land)" and demanded eviction of "illegal settlers" from the tribal belt and block areas. Dhemaji and Lakhimpur are over 400km from Guwahati.
