Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has registered a 75.67 per cent market share in the number of policies in the country during 2017-18 and earned the highest first- year premium income of Rs 1.34 lakh crore that constitutes 69.40 per cent share of the total income in that category. The LIC’s performance in total death claim settlement was best ever with least death claim outstanding ratio being 0.07 per cent. The figures were announced during the 58th All India  senior divisional managers conference held in Mumbai between May 14 and 16 to discuss the finalisation of corporate strategies for the current fiscal (2018-19).
