Tata Power Renewable Energy on June 13 inked a power purchase agreement with GE to provide solar rooftop solutions for six of the latter’s sites in India. Solar rooftops will be put up at GE manufacturing sites in Durgapur (Bengal), Pallavaram and Hosur (Tamil Nadu), a multi-modal manufacturing site in Pune (Maharashtra), an upcoming factory in Marhowra (Bihar) and a maintenance facility in Roza (Uttar Pradesh). Solar rooftop projects will help to generate over 1 million kWh of power a year and slash tariff to some 30 per cent. GE will also be able to curb the emission of over 13,000kg carbon dioxide a day

App cab launch 

SS Cabs, an app-based local taxi service, was introduced in Ranchi on June 14. A 24/7 cab service at affordable rates, it will also be launched in other cities of Jharkhand in the near future, said Atal Bihari Singh, a co-founder. To be downloaded from Google Playstore, the app is applicable only on Android phones for now, but will be extended to iOS shortly. Customers can also book a cab of the company over phone, the numbers being 7091988388 and 9534850029

Aadhaar camp

The maiden four-day Aadhaar camp organised by Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) at Chamber Bhavan, Bistupur in Jamshedpur, to fulfil a longstanding demand of traders, ended on June 14. The camp issued new Aadhaar cards and got corrections done in existing ones. More camps will be held if need be, general secretary

With a minimum recharge of Rs 144, subscribers get unlimited local and STD calls for 30 days, 2 GB data as well as 100 SMSes daily and free roaming

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd opened its second Ranchi Van Heusen store on June 16 at GEL Church Complex. The 1,600sqft store offers corporate suits and fashion jackets to casual workwear and club wear with accessories. Company chief operating officer Abhay Bahugune said Jharkhand was an important market and the overwhelming response they received prompted them to open a second store in Ranchi
